Solar Energy Resource Assessment workshop

The workshop is organised by the Stellenbosch University in collaboration with UNEP and will be presented Cartsen Hoyer-Klick of the DLR (German Aerospace Center)
Synopsis
This one-day workshop covers the most important aspects of solar energy resource measurement and assessment. The following topics will be addressed:
· Methods for assessing solar radiation (ground measurements and remote/satellite sensing)
· Sources for solar radiation data
· Benchmarking of solar radiation data
· Required characteristics of solar radiation data for various applications / How to select a suitable data set for the desired application.
· Quality assessment of solar radiation data
· Obtaining bankable data for CSP and PV installation
Who should attend
Engineers, CSP and PV project developers, technologists active in the solar energy sector Government and local authority officials and other decision makers. Investors.
Venue and Time
This one day workshop will be presented at the Skilpadvlei Conference Centre outside Stellenbosch on 17 February 2010 from 08h00 – 17h00. The same training will be repeated at the Development Bank of SA Conference Centre in Midrand on 18 February 2010.

The workshop is designed for a limited number of participants so as to personalise and maximise the learning experience. Bookings will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Bookings will only be considered as "confirmed" once the completed, signed registration form has been received.
